Chiu is a highly sought after independent artist from Toronto, Canada. He started his career at the age of 17 designing officially licensed toys for companies such as Disney and Pixar. Today, he runs Imaginism Studios and has many clients within the film industry, publishing and web media. He also teaches digital arts and has written many tutorials and articles on the subject. Bobby Chiu’s work is known worldwide and he is recognized as one of the most talented digital artists and character designers working in the field today. Ovi Nedelcu

Romanian born former AAU student Ovi Nedelcu got his start in the visual development department of Warner Brothers, then moved on to work at Laika studios on CORALINE. He is currently working on development for a Disney project and a book that he is both writing and illustrating. When beginning a character design he reads the script first and really tries to understand WHO the character- or char-ACTOR as he calls it- is and their motivations before putting pen to paper. "You really have to become an actor and bring that design/character to life. Some character designers only focus on design, not character, or char-actor. Its really important to know the difference so the characters don’t become lifeless and flat."
